My Responsibilities
I’m responsible for your safety and your learning both on the ground and in the air. My goal is to make each flight lesson safe, practical, and tailored to how you learn best.

My Bio
I’m married with four kids—two of them teachers, one an airline pilot. Following a long career as a lawyer, my focus has shifted to aviation, where I combine a love of flying with a passion for mentoring student pilots. I’m also a writer who has published two books and many articles, mostly on legal topics, but more recently on topics that merge aviation and education.

My Hobbies
My most rewarding hobbies combine fitness with the outdoors. When I was younger, I ran eight marathons, including the San Francisco Marathon and the Chicago Marathon. In recent years, I’ve completed a number of long-distance backpacking trails. These include the Appalachian Trail (all 2,200 miles!), the Benton MacKaye Trail, and the Colorado Trail. I’m also a commercial glider pilot and spend most of my weekends helping out or flying at the Eagleville Soaring Club.
